Hugh Bonneville, Griff Rhys Jones OBE, Rupert Everett, Cressida Bonas, Ruth Jones and Jane Horrocks are just some of the household names lending their support to the new Record & Share for the NHS campaign, created by kids’ audio system Tonies to raise funds for NHS Charities Together.

Every day, a famous face is treating fans to a reading of their favourite children’s story or poem, shared for free across Tonies social channels via video and audio recordings for everyone to enjoy, including readings such as The Gruffalo from Suki Waterhouse and a Grimm fairy tale from Sir Derek Jacobi CBE, plus many more. The stellar line up will also include stories and poems told by key workers, including police, firefighters and nurses.

Tonies has made a donation to kick off the fundraising drive and is hoping the public will get involved and contribute a small amount of money in return for the storytelling sessions. All donations made through the Tonies Key Workers Support Fund will be donated to NHS Charities Together, going towards creating well-being packs for staff and volunteers, providing devices for isolated patients to communicate with loved ones whilst in hospital and supporting the mental health of those affected by Covid-19.

Manon Sel, UK general manager at Tonies, said: “As families across the UK are braced for a summer of social distancing, we wanted to do something to not only entertain and inspire children, but also raise money for our amazing NHS staff, volunteers and key workers who are working tirelessly to care for Covid-19 patients. This campaign seemed like the perfect way to both entertain and inspire children, adding that little spark into their everyday lives during this difficult time. We hope to continue to bring even more stories to life with familiar voices and allow families, if only for a moment, to forget what is going on around them and get lost in the magic of storytelling.”
