Thames & Kosmos has launched Creatto, a simple yet versatile building system for children aged six and above, which lets kids make, play and display their creations.

“We premiered the brand new Creatto range during London Toy Fair in January this year”, commented Jo Drage, sales director. “The kits created a buzz amongst our trade customers, and we are so pleased that these have arrived in time for the Christmas trade.”

With Creatto, children and adults alike can design and construct illuminated, three-dimensional creations. The kit includes flexible and durable interlocking plastic tiles and a string of LED lights that creators can piece together to make animals, decorations, or their own custom creations without the need of any additional materials or hardware being required.

There is a kit available for all ages and abilities, starting with Moonlight Elephant Safari and Magical Moose for ages six plus, which retail at £10; Starlight Kitty & Cutie Crew, retailing at £20; and a Shimmer Shark & Ocean Pals and Sparkle Unicorn & Friends set for more experienced builders from nine onwards, retailing at £30.

Jo added: “We’ve had such great feedback from our end users and independent toyshops alike, who all love the versatility of the kits and the sparkle they will add to homes during the darker autumn and winter months. The kits are different to our usual educational range, and I have to admit to being a bit anxious about how the trade would react to this new offering, but the gamble paid off, and pre-orders have been coming in fast.”
