The Hasbro London team took part in Global Day of Joy raising money for MediCinema with a third Annual Monopoly Walk.
Hasbro’s London employees have taken part in their third Annual Monopoly Walk for MediCinema as part of Hasbro’s annual Global Day of Joy.
Continuing with the company’s commitment to purpose, Global Day of Joy is Hasbro’s company-wide day of service intended to bring joy to local communities through a series of events and opportunities. The effort will impact more than 100,000 children, young adults and families globally.
As part of the special day on Wednesday 7th December, 6,000 Hasbro employees volunteered at more than 200 service projects in 40 countries around the world. In addition, this holiday season, Hasbro is donating more than $2.5m worth of toys and games to Toys for Tots across the US and its territories.
Global Day of Joy activities range from wrapping toys for local schools to assembling warm blankets to be delivered to various community organizations, mentoring young adults, virtual and at-home options and more. Partnering with various charitable organisations, these efforts took place around the world.
The London team’s Annual Monopoly Walk covered the 35-mile (55km) distance from Old Kent Road to Mayfair, finding classic Monopoly landmarks along the way. For every 35 miles employees collectively travelled, eOne donated £200 towards MediCinema UK, a charitable organisation that builds, installs and runs state-of-the-art cinemas in hospitals.
Other activities around the globe included meal donations in Australia, a Carnival Day in Singapore, creating a new playground in Poland, cleft lip surgery support in Chile and cleaning up Bolsa Chica State Beach in California.
