HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair returns in January

Published on: 15th December 2022

The Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair organisers welcomed the news that the HK government has further relaxed Covid-19 rules for inbound travellers.

Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 49th edition of Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair will run under the brand-new EXHIBITION+ model which integrates online and offline shows. The physical fair will run from 9th-12th January at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), while the online exhibition will run from 9th-19th January, helping global traders explore business opportunities both in person and online.

Under this year’s theme of Play To Bond ∙ Family and Beyond, the fair will showcase a wide variety of products ranging from traditional toys to high-tech games, from big names to emerging brands.

The Hong Kong SAR (HKSAR) government has further relaxed the Covid-19 rules for inbound travellers by lifting the amber code restrictions. Those arriving from overseas and Taiwan via Hong Kong International Airport with negative PCR test results can now freely access any premises upon their arrival, including participating in exhibitions and conferences. In addition, travellers going to Mainland China and Macao are no longer required to undergo a PCR test at the border. Click here for more details.

To facilitate buyers’ sourcing needs, the fair will feature a number of product zones including the Brand Name Gallery, which will showcase branded products with eye-catching design and innovative functions. Kidult World will feature products for grown-ups like hobby goods, magic items, action and war game items, as well as art toys, models and figurines. Also returning in the upcoming edition will be the Smart-Tech Toys, displaying toys and games that incorporate innovative technologies such as AI, AR, VR, etc. Green toys, as one of the industry’s currently hottest topics, will also be highlighted.

A series of events will be held for visitors to keep abreast of the latest industry development and strengthen their networks. The Hong Kong Toys Industry Conference 2023 will share the insights on key global and regional trends shaping the toys industry.

The fair will run under the HKTDC’s brand-new EXHIBITION+ hybrid model. EXHIBITION+ comprises four key exhibition elements, including HKTDC-organised physical fairs, the smart business-matching platform Click2Match, online-to-offline seminars under the Intelligence Hub, and the hktdc.com Sourcing platform, to provide round-the-clock services that boost the flexibility and effectiveness of business promotion for SMEs and offer benefits such as extended fair periods, expanded platforms and enhanced opportunities. EXHIBITION+ extends face-to-face interactions from physical exhibitions to an online smart business-matching platform to help enterprises connect with business partners proactively. The HKTDC’s 50 global offices will actively recruit international buyers and exhibitors to participate at the fair booth in person and online.
