Zinc Formula E e-scooter sells out

Published on: 27th January 2023

The surge in demand for the Zinc Formula E e-Scooter leads to renewed calls to speed up e-scooter legislation.

The nation’s love affair with e-scooters continues as scooter brand Zinc Sports reports that its Formula E e-scooter has sold out online.

The Zinc Formula E GZ1 Series Electric Scooter launched in the middle of December and while it has sold out online, models are still available from high street retailer Argos. It is the first in the range of seven products that will be launched in collaboration with the all-electric racing championship.

Chirag Shah, chief operating officer at Zinc Sports, said: “The Formula E GZ1 Series Electric Scooter has proven a phenomenal hit. We knew the collaboration would be a massive success, but we’ve been overwhelmed by the demand. It’s great to see the public’s appetite for e-scooters that can be used recreationally and on private land, but it would be great to see the laws in the UK catch up with the rest of the world so that users can exercise the same rights and freedoms that other road users enjoy in more European countries. We think if e-scooters were regulated and licensed, this would increase the safety factor of e-scooters – along with education and simple accessories like helmets, lights and reflective strips.”

The Zinc Formula E GZ1 Series Electric Scooter boasts a top speed of 15.5mph and a battery range of 13 miles and includes unique safety features including a front headlight that responds automatically to weather conditions and automatic indicator deck lights to be used when turning. It also includes a built-in gyroscopic system that regulates speed, absorbs shocks and provides stability to ensure a comfortable ride.

Hy-Pro will be exhibiting at Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg in Hall 7, Stand C-29.
