Airfix releases new Transport for London Routemaster

Published on: 12th December 2023

Airfix has announced the release of a new mould: the J6050 Quickbuild Transport for London New Routemaster.

AirfixRoutemaster is proud to announce the release of the J6050 Transport for London New Routemaster as its last addition to the 2023 Quickbuild range for the year. Inspired by the original AEC Routemaster, Wrightbus introduced the New Routemaster in 2012. It was noted for having a rear open platform with hop-on, hop-off capability, similar to the original Routemaster.

Durable enough to play and display, the New Routemaster Bus is Airfix’s biggest Quickbuild set to date, including 88 parts, moving wheels and stickers. Once the kit has been built, it measures at 30.3cm in length, with a height of 11.8cm, making it the largest Quickbuild kit to date.

Quickbuild kits are designed to encourage families with children aged six and up through the building steps, with simple to build, brick-based model kits. The range is not only ideal for the younger age group, but also for various ages. Airfix says Quickbuild is a great gift for the younger generation, and even the avid modeller.
