Airfix teams up with Company of Heroes 3

Published on: 1st June 2023

Taking historical accuracy and immersive experiences to a whole new level, Airfix has joined forces with WWII Strategy Game, Company of Heroes 3.

Combining a passion for modelling with an immersive gaming experience that focuses on historical authenticity, Airfix has announced an exciting new partnership. Company of Heroes 3 has garnered acclaim for its authentic portrayal of World War II battles, challenging players to make strategic decisions and lead their troops to victory.

Company of Heroes 3 is described as the ultimate WWII Console Experience and is purpose-built for consoles with full controller support, custom UI and features that allow gamers to play at their own pace. The game deploys an acclaimed blend of action, tactics and strategy to both PS5 and Xbox series S and X. The third instalment of the Company of Heroes series, developed by Relic Entertainment, features both single-player and multiplayer modes. Players can choose to command either the Allied or Axis forces in a timeline based on the Mediterranean theatre of war during the later stages of WWII. The latest game includes new features such as dynamic weather and enhanced and improved building destruction graphics.

Many of the vehicles featured in Company of Heroes 3 match those already available in the Airfix range; some of the most famous tanks of WWII play pivotal roles in the game. This convergence allows players to bridge the gap between the virtual and the physical, recreating favourite in-game moments and enhancing their modelling experience.

After immersing themselves in the virtual battlefields of Company of Heroes 3, players can bring those epic moments to life in the physical realm using Airfix model kits. Whether its recreating iconic battles, building dioramas inspired by the game, or exploring new ways to engage with history, the partnership has been designed to  ignite imaginations and take modelling to new dimensions.

Hornby says the partnership offers a unique opportunity to combine modelling and gaming, all while being a part of a global community that shares a passion for history and immersive experiences. In celebration of the partnership, Airfix is launching three competitions for a chance to win free Airfix kits and game codes for Company of Heroes 3.

The Airfix website and social media channels will issue more updates in due course. For more information, click here.
