BTHA issues statement on Toy Fair

Published on: 17th December 2021

The organiser of the London trade fair has reiterated that it is staying abreast of the latest guidelines, and aims to issue a follow-up statement in early January regarding potential restrictions.

In a statement issued on Friday 17th January, the British Toy and Hobby Association said: “We are all looking forward to Toy Fair and are working hard to deliver a great Toy Fair 2022 at Olympia London.

We are continuing to follow the latest government advice in regards to health matters and requirements for events of our type; in light of the rapidly changing and uncertain Covid-19 pandemic with the Omicron variant, we are awaiting information on any further government safety measures, which are expected and may include some restrictions. When these are known and assessed, we will of course inform our participants and visitors of any new developments.

We will make a further announcement when this information is available and would aim to make another statement in the afternoon of Wednesday 5th January at the latest. In the meantime, we advise companies to exercise prudence on undertaking expenditure on stand materials and construction in case the situation or requirements do necessitate changes.

May we take this opportunity to thank you for your understanding and patience and to wish you and your families, friends and colleagues a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year.”
