Published on: 22nd February 2024

Richard Hawkins has joined the Hey Hugo team in the role of Sales director as the company looks to launch its presence in the toy market.

Richard brings with him a wealth of experience within the toy industry, having started his journey in the world of toys in 2006 with Nikko. Richard has subsequently gone on to work for Flair GP, VTech, Hornby and most recently MGA, where he was head of Field Sales for UK and Ireland.

Richard said “I am very excited to be helping launch the Hey Hugo brand into the market. We have a range of amazing designs which have been created by a very talented design team here in the beautiful city of Bath. The level of detail and care taken in all aspects of the design and production is second to none and will really help us stand out from the competition. Each product offers great value and has fantastic potential, so I am excited to see where we can take the brand in 2024.”

Hey Hugo is part of The Gifted Stationery Company, which was founded by Nigel Parr in 2007 and has become one of the fastest growing businesses in the stationery sector. The Gifted Stationery team has been producing over 500 high-quality new products across gift stationery, calendars and diaries each year, which are sold all around the world.

Nigel commented: “Richard joins us with a wealth of very relevant experience, having held a number of senior sales positions within the toy industry. As such, he will be invaluable in steering the launch of Hey Hugo and bringing the product to market.”
