The Role
Wicked Vision is seeking an experienced and innovative Product Development Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, passionate about developing innovative products that resonate with our customers. As a Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for executing the new product development calendar. You will manage the full product development lifecycle of our range, from concept to launch, while ensuring alignment with our brand vision and market trends. This is a senior role reporting directly to the CEO and working alongside two key roles: the sourcing manager and the head of creative. Additionally, the role offers the chance to expand and further develop the product department.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft the product vision, strategy and roadmap, driving its execution through your team and cross-functional coordination.
- Responsible for all testing/certification as well as compliance for international retailers/distributors.
- Own the new product development process and execute accordingly.
- Manage the product lifecycle from concept to launch, leading projects that involve integrated product development.
- Conduct market and product opportunity assessments, providing pursuit support for strategic new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure transparency and alignment around priorities and breakthroughs.
- Develop product ideas and prototypes that meet safety and quality standards, overseeing the product development process.
- Monitor trends in the toy and game industry to ensure our products remain competitive and exceed customer expectations.
- Oversee product launches and ensure successful delivery.
- Troubleshooting potential issues and provide creative solutions.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and other departments to ensure successful product launches.
Qualifications and Skills
- (Desirable) Degree in design/product design or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in product development within the toy industry.
- Extensive knowledge of product and packaging design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of agile development technology and methodology.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically while also diving into details.
- Experience in an international business environment.
Start Date: ASAP
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week, 9.00am – 5.30pm
Salary: Depending on experience
