Micro Scooters showcased at Young V&A Museum

Published on: 8th August 2023

As well as celebrating its inclusion in a launch installation at the attraction, Micro Scooters is proud to have been awarded Carbon Neutral certification.

Co-designed with children and young people, the Young V&A is a free, national museum designed to showcase the power of creativity in children’s lives as they build new skills and develop the creative confidence needed to thrive in our fast-changing world.

The new museum, which was seven years in the planning, had its grand opening in Bethnal Green in July 2023. A big feature of one of the launch installations showcased the work of the team behind Micro Scooters, with displays including prototype and drawings that Wim Ouboter – founder of Micro Mobility and the inventor of the world’s first two wheeled scooter – completed as he was dreaming up Micro Scooters.

Alongside these pieces, the Micro Lino, the company’s electric car, is suspended spectacularly from the ceiling in the Young V&A museum.

Additionally, Micro Scooters has once again been awarded Carbon Neutral Britain Certification. The certification recognises that the company has met standards in measuring, calculating and carbon offsetting organisational carbon emissions within the Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions boundary.

The certification acknowledges that 4646.29 tonnes CO₂e Emissions have been offset via the Climate Fund Portfolio of verified carbon offsetting projects around the world.

Alongside this recognition and to support its sustainability goals, the brand offers replacement parts for every one of its scooters alongside easy-to-follow instructional guides. The company has set itself a target to get more people revamping, repairing or handing down their scooters within the next two years.

Renowned for their durability and precision engineering, Micro Scooters products are regular recipients of awards.
