Paramount releases new TMNT: Mutant Mayhem trailer

Published on: 1st June 2023

As excitement builds for the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, a new trailer has been enthusiastically received by fans.

Paramount has released a second Mutant Mayhem trailer featuring a more detailed look at the film’s plot and characters. The trailer also confirmed the release date for Mutant Mayhem, which is now 2nd August, a couple of days earlier than previously suggested.

Distributed by Paramount Pictures, Mutant Mayhem is directed by Jeff Rowe and Kyler Spears and written by Seth Rogen.

In the new movie, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. With the help of new friend April O’Neil, they take on a mysterious crime syndicate, resulting in an army of mutants being unleashed upon them. The new trailer reveals the first look at villain Superfly and the band of mutants that do battle with the turtles.

Viewers of the trailer have praised its high-octane action and sense of humour. In this movie, fans will get to see Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michaelangelo behaving like human teenagers and trying to navigate society with the same challenges – and more – that today’s audiences will find relateable; an aspect which leans into the film’s cross-generation appeal.

One of the biggest action figure phenomena of all-time, the toy industry is already seeing demand for the latest versions of the popular characters.

Playmates Toys’ Ninja Turtles action figures, vehicles and role play toys based on the upcoming film are being distributed by Character Options in the UK.

Funrise is also releasing a range of TMNT vehicles this month, and Blue Sky Studios has just unveiled a collection which includes backpacks, water bottles, lunchware, stationery and novelty gifting. You can read more about all the latest TMNT: Mutant Mayhem products in the June issue of Toy World Licensing World special, where you will find extensive features on both Character Licensed Merchandise and Action Figures.
