A word game filled with sneakiness, shenanigans and anagrams, Shenanigrams is compact, portable, super-addictive and can be as simple or strategic as players decide.
Shenanigrams is the brainchild of serial-inventors Kate and Zak Walton; the British game-obsessed husband and wife duo who sold their last successful family and party games business (Gutter Games) in 2021, and who have just launched an ambitious, brand-new venture called Happy Yeti Games.
They launched Shenanigrams four weeks ago and have received fantastic feedback from customers so far. Kate and Zak told Toy World: “We’ve really loved every aspect of creating, designing and playtesting Shenanigrams, and have really enjoyed being back in the industry again, doing what we are passionate about”.
Taking all the fun of creating word grids from letter tiles, Shenanigrams has a brilliant and sneaky twist to make it extra fun and highly competitive. Players race to build words on the same grid by playing one letter tile at a time, but can also steal words from each other, resulting in laughter and a frenzy of activity.
The rules are simple and gameplay is short and sweet – a recipe Kate and Zak have always sworn by when creating games – keeping everyone entertained and keen to play time after time again.
Designed for ages 8+ and 2-6 players, VR Distribution believes Shenanigrams is set to become a huge hit amongst anyone who loves word games like Wordle, Boggle and Scrabble etc. It’s compact and portable, super-addictive and gameplay can be as simple or strategic as players decide to make it. It’s also a fantastic way to help kids with spelling and vocab, and great fun for family board game nights, travel-adventures, couples and groups of adults.
Kate and Zak designed Shenanigrams to be completely carbon neutral; the game is made from high quality, responsibly-sourced components, such as FSC certified wooden letter tiles and an organic cotton letter bag, to ensure each game is gentle on the Earth and built to withstand countless years of play. Happy Yeti is a member of 1% For The Planet and additionally donates at least 1% of revenue to environmental non-profits that work to preserve and protect the planet.
