Steamforged takes Epic Encounters: Local Legends to Kickstarter

Published on: 9th June 2022

The classic fantasy tavern is about to get the Epic Encounters treatment when it arrives on Kickstarter this month.

The tabletop game creator and publisher Steamforged Games has unveiled a new spin-off of its ever-growing and best-selling IP, Epic Encounters.

Epic Encounters: Local Legends is a supplement filled with unique, ready to play taverns, inns, pubs and other hostelries for any fantasy roleplaying game. Launching on Kickstarter on the 28th June, Local Legends takes the popular Epic Encounters formula and gives gamemasters a host of remarkable Tavern settings to drop into their games.

Whether players are looking for a place to rest, or a wild new adventure, Local Legends provides it all. The taverns are ready for play right out of the box with highly detailed monster miniatures, beautifully illustrated non-player character cards, battle maps and much more content. Bespoke encounters have been created for each tavern, providing a thrilling challenge in each tavern, along with stunning, hand drawn artwork of the interior and exterior of each inn. The visually impactful settings are perfect for everyone from first- time Gamemasters right through to the most seasoned of campaigners.

CCO Mat Hart commented: “Epic Encounters is an amazing way for new and experienced gamemasters to enhance their games. We want to take what Epic Encounters does for monsters, and apply it to classic fantasy locations – and the tavern was the obvious first choice. Given such an ambitious product, and a new direction for the Epic Encounters brand, going to Kickstarter felt like a great fit. It allows us to really take things to the next level.”
