Sky Dancers flying off shelves

Published on: 25th August 2022

The reimagined Sky Dancer dolls from the 1990s are tipped to be on many kids’ most wanted lists this Christmas.

Since Vivid Goliath partnered with Lansay for a relaunch of Sky Dancers in July, sales have been off to a flying start signalling the re-versioned dolls from the ’90s will be among the most wanted toys this Christmas.

The dolls made their return with modernized outfits more suited to fashion tastes of today but with the same magical play pattern to captivate a new generation when they take flight. Sky Dancers is a product with a huge legacy of success, selling 22m units between 1995 and 1997.

Early sales are showing that Miss Mint, Purple Licious and Fushia Fantasy are already highly sought after and searched for. To celebrate the launch, a host of celebrities and influencers are attending an exclusive event next month where guests will get to meet the fairies, enjoy a host of fun activities and also take to the skies with their Sky Dancers as they enjoy a flight on the London Eye with Merlin Venues.

Senior brand manager Chloe Burrowes said: “We’ve got a fully comprehensive marketing plan kick starting early next month with a big focus on PR unlocking the nostalgia of these hit dolls from the ’90s through national media and also on social media platforms talking to parents. In addition to the press event, we will also be targeting children through YouTube, TV and VOD with a beautiful new TV commercial that really brings the magic of the fairies to life.”

Each Sky Dancer comes with a decorated launch base. Children simply pull the string to set them into flight and then marvel as they flutter back down in style.

Vivid Goliath says it will be ordering more stock to cover the demand for Christmas.
