Following a crescendo of PR and marketing activity, Biggies, the first-of-its-kind super-size plush, saw its sales triple at the start of November.
Exclusively distributed in the UK by Click Distribution (UK), Biggies hit shelves earlier this season – launching with a supersized party at Ballie Ballerson attended by a mix of celebrities, influencers and media. Ongoing PR and high-reaching influencer activity across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, executed by Playtime PR, and enhanced by social and digital advertising, has helped to drive brand awareness to date supporting steady sales since launch.
Up-weighting activity ahead of peak and ensuring that key journalists and producers had the chance to get hands-on with the product, the team landed a much-coveted spot in ITV’s This Morning’s Top Toys for Christmas. With the addition of ongoing influencer partnerships, well-timed digital ads and broader media activity, the company has seen Biggies sales swell.
CEO, Luke Hillier, commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to see the efforts of the past few months on Biggies pay off with such an impressive uplift in sales. We’ve focused hard on ensuring our marketing efforts are aligned across channels and with still more to come, we are optimistic for the weeks ahead.”
A never seen before toy, Biggies is a unique plush which users pump up using the included foot pump. The box grows while the plush grows until eventually, a perfectly huggable plush, 10x its size in the box, explodes out of the packaging.
Once inflated, the plush is super sturdy yet lightweight. What’s more, the reveal can be repeated again and again. The packaging is reusable so children can deflate their Biggie when they want, put it back into the packaging and recreate the same experience as many times as they like.
There are six fantasy Biggies to choose from: a Unicorn, Dragon, Rabbit or Puppy, plus, just launched, an Axolotl and a Purple Unicorn.
