Published on: 6th October 2023

Travellers at Changi Airport in Singapore can now immerse themselves in the world of Funko at a 200sqm experiential space in Terminal 2 departure hall.

Funko has announced that its new pop-up store will be in the departure hall of the newly renovated Terminal 2 at the world-famous Changi Airport from 6th October 2023. Voted Skytrax’s World’s Best Airport for the 12th time this year since 2000, passengers will now have access to world-famous collectibles as part of their travels.

The 200sqm experiential space will be the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. From this week, Singapore will be offering visitors a plethora of interactive moments from Funko. This will include photo opportunities with Funko statues such as Harry Potter, Groot and Batman, which will be available for the first-time ever in Singapore. There will also be Pop! Boxes, plus an activity space where fans of all ages are encouraged to unleash their creativity, and much more.

Senior regional director Asia: Funko Far East, Andy Clempson said of the new pop-up store: “We are delighted and excited to be working on this special project with CAG through our long-term Singapore Distribution partner Simply Toys. Changi airport is an iconic, world-renowned gateway to Asia, and this collaboration allows us to present our Funko brands to new consumers whilst allowing our existing international Funko fans to really ‘follow their fun’ in a truly immersive experience.”

Running for at least five months from 6th October 2023, the pop-up store will deliver fans the chance to explore Funko’s extensive range of pop culture products and connect with their favourite fandoms. Highlights will include the world-renowned Funko Pop!, brand-new micro-sized collectibles line, Bitty Pop!, and a dedicated space for fashion favourite brand, Loungefly.

Ann Goh, managing director of Simply Toys, added: “We are delighted to work with Changi Airport Group to bring this Funko pop-up event to life. This will be the first time so many Funko statues will be brought together in this part of the world and will certainly delight any Funko collector.”
