Generation Media partners with local charity

The partnership with One Westminster has seen members of the Generation Media team volunteer their time in support of the local community.

Generation Media, a leading independent specialist for communication to children, families and young people globally, has partnered with One Westminster, to take part in community events across London.

One Westminster provide volunteering placement services, corporate employee volunteering opportunities and training to the wider voluntary and community sector across Westminster. The charity’s Time and Talents’ programme enabled staff from Generation Media to attend several volunteering events throughout May and June to help give back to the local community. Events included a coffee morning with those facing dementia, an afternoon of gardening, a community tea dance and a painting session at a youth centre.

CEO Dean Weller commented: “Giving back to our community is an important objective of our social responsibility. We are dedicated to not only improving the wellbeing of those who work at Generation Media but also for those who are part of the local community. We’re delighted to be able to help in any way we can and will continue to support this initiative for many years to come.”

The company’s community efforts follow on from May Mayhem, The Toy Trust’s fundraising initiative. Last month, Generation Media raised more than £7000 for The Toy Trust by donating ticket sales from the agencies annual conference, KidsCon23. The event took place on Thursday, 4th May, in the heart of the West End, at Vue Leicester Square. The day was filled with a variety of inspiring and thought-provoking presentations from industry experts and panellists, including Bobi Carley, head of Media and Diversity at ISBA, Kelly Williams, managing director of Commercial for ITV, Johnny Carr from Vue International, Lee Veitch, global head of Sales at Super Awesome, Charlie Bolton, agency director at MiQ and Generation Media’s very own leadership team.
