Reydon Sports ranks in Top 200 female-lead companies

Published on: 4th September 2023

Justine McGovern, Reydon’s managing director and shareholder, continues to expand the team with new appointments in Sales, Marketing and Buying.

Out of 46,000 companies assessed (and 200 shortlisted) by J.P. Morgan, Reydon placed at No.64 based on commercial growth and overall leadership.

Justine was appointed to the company in 2021. This followed a significant restructure, realigning product and brand strategies along with market focus, allowing the team, and business overall, to embrace a continued trajectory of success.

A spokesperson for J.P. Morgan said: “JPMorgan Chase remains committed to helping drive an inclusive, equitable future for all women. This report underscores the success of women and the incredibly diverse role that they play in impacting and shaping British businesses and the economy.”

Under Justine McGovern’s leadership, and with a skilled team of over 50 staff, Reydon is a prominent wholesaler of Sport, Toy, Leisure & Outdoor goods.

Approaching Q4, the company is continuing to evolve as a B2B wholesaler across the retail sector. The start of the year saw Reydon attend the London Toy Fair 2023 in January, showcasing its exclusive distribution for Nerf and Franklin with full support from Hasbro UK; an innovative hybrid range covering sport and toy. The 30+ SKU launch showcased a strong selection of sporting product lines which fit perfectly into any toy, sport, leisure and multiple retailer.

The company reports that, overall, trade has flourished. After the Covid & Brexit curveballs of 2021/22, shipping complications threatened to disrupt Reydon’s service to its large Irish customer base, however the company worked closely with courier partners and brands to resolve major sticking points, allowing business to operate as usual. With a minimum order spend in place for Ireland, customers can buy seamlessly without any hassle and with full duties paid.

With brands such as Canterbury, Mitre, Speedo, Nerf, Adidas, Waboba, Trespass and hundreds more available at the click of a button, Reydon continue to supply the industry with a vast offering of product, as well as continue to develop its own brands, including Precision Training.

On the Reydon B2B website, a number of updates are rolling out. A ‘Coming Soon’ section allows customers to look three months ahead and plan their buying accordingly, viewing which ranges are coming into stock. This is complemented by a ‘New In’ section which showcases the latest ranges available. Along with new sections and categories, speed and navigation across the site continues to be improved to give customers the best user experience possible.

For the second half of 2023, Reydon is recruiting further members in Sales, Marketing and Buying in order to handle the company’s commercial growth.
