Smyths Toys Christmas ad unveiled

Published on: 3rd November 2023

Smyths Toys’ Christmas ad for 2023 has just been released, with the message ‘We Really Wanna Go To Smyths Toys Superstores!’

The 2023 Smyths Toys Superstores Christmas ad makes its debut today. In the much-anticipated ad, created with McCann Manchester, four friends arrive at the Smyths Toys Superstore on a snowy evening. Magically, the doors open and they enter to discover the store has come alive.

They are greeted by Furbies on the shelf, a WWE Monster Truck zooming by – and around the corner a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pizza party is underway. This is interrupted by a Jurassic World Colossal Indoraptor (who would like some pizza).

The friends also discover some choppy waters with the Lego Arctic Ship and Minifigures; Ken & Barbies having a pool party; Stitch up to mischief and a sea of Squishmallows. Rainbow High and L.O.L. Surprise dolls are performing the Smyths Toys song with Queen Poppy – and Gabby is dancing along. Meanwhile, other toys make a surprise appearance throughout the colourful ad.

Toy World readers can watch the Christmas ad below.

Sinead Byrne, European Marketing director at Smyths Toys Superstores, said: “We’re so excited to unveil our new Christmas ad. Kids can watch and rewatch the ad, to spot all their favourite toys. We hope you really wanna go to Smyths Toys Superstores after watching”.

Smyths Toys Superstores has 141 store locations throughout the UK and Ireland, which can be found here.

The launch of the brand ad will be supported by an integrated 360 marketing campaign. This includes TV, YouTube, a Disney+ campaign and social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

Smyths Toys Superstores has produced a 300-page catalogue to help customers plan their Christmas shopping, with shoppers able to pick up a free copy in-store.
