Penguin Ventures partners with Café Rouge to launch The Snowman Afternoon Tea

Published on: 22nd November 2019

The Snowman Afternoon Tea is available now until the 5th January 2020.

Café Rouge has launched The Snowman limited edition afternoon tea in partnership with Penguin Ventures. The afternoon tea is inspired by Raymond Briggs’ iconic creation that is a favourite around Christmas time.

The Snowman Afternoon Tea features three tiers of treats inspired by the classic story – including a festive take on Café Rouge’s signature Croque served with pigs in blankets; snowy scones dusted with icing sugar and served with white chocolate buttons, strawberry jam and clotted cream; s’mores marshmallow chocolate cheesecake topped with orange zest; Christmassy carrot cake and white chocolate mousse topped with a white chocolate ‘snowball’. The Afternoon Tea is priced at £29.95 for two with hot drinks, or £34.95 with a glass of Prosecco each.

Head of brand management at Penguin Ventures, Izzy Richardson, said: “The Snowman Afternoon Tea at Café Rouge perfectly captures the festive spirit of the classic story and it tastes absolutely delicious too. Guests are in for a wonderful treat and we hope that many magical memories are made in this special celebratory year for Café Rouge.”

Head of marketing at Café Rouge, Jaci Fletcher, added: “We really wanted to create a festive experience for guests who love afternoon tea and who love The Snowman. By teaming up with Penguin Ventures, we’ve managed to capture precious Christmas memories and give them back to guests in the form of something edible. When I think of Christmas, I think of The Snowman and I’m sure I’m not the only one. A firm Christmas favourite for young and old, Penguin Ventures celebrated 40 years of The Snowman last year, and with Rouge celebrating its 30th this year too, it was the perfect time to partner to do something for the festive season.”

The Snowman Afternoon Tea is available now until 5th of January 2020. To book, visit the Café Rouge website.
