YouTube stars Amazing Arabella and Jaadin the Kid will host this year’s awards.

The Outdoor Toy Awards 2018 offer a chance for brands to raise awareness of their products in the run up to the summer holidays. The awards final will see the spotlight thrown onto ten toys, each one crowned champion in their category, with every shortlisted toy put through its paces by over 50 children aged 5-14.

The categories are: Climbing and Adventure, Outdoor Sports, Flying Toys, Ride On, Trampolines, Pre-School, Outdoor Games and Play, Battle & Blaster Toys, Houses, Tents & Hideaways, and Science and Nature.

Organised by Toyology, the Outdoor Toy Awards has announced that it is partnering with DC Thomson Media. Through its Epic and Sweet magazines, the Outdoor Toy Awards will reach an even wider audience with competitions and content in the issues running into the summer holidays, as well as activity on social media channels.

The Outdoor Toy awards final will be live-streamed on Facebook where the ten winners will be announced, alongside the runners-up. The announcements will be made ahead of the school summer holidays, offering guidance on outdoor toys and products for summer staycations. For those that miss the live event, a video of the awards will be available on YouTube.

Kirsty Matthews, head of magazine marketing at DC Thomson, commented: “We’re thrilled to be part of this outdoor adventure. Getting kids outdoors and active and having loads of fun is totally aligned with the messages from our magazines.”

Brands wanting to get involved should visit the website at www.theoutdoortoyawards.co.uk

The awards are open for entry now, and the shortlist will be announced 20th May. The finalists and winners will be unveiled on 20th June.
