Hasbro details new pre-school product offering

Published on: 3rd March 2021

Hasbro has shared details of its first pre-school toy lines based on the popular eOne brands Peppa Pig and PJ Masks.

The lines are the first Hasbro toys inspired by the beloved family-friendly brands following Hasbro’s acquisition of eOne in December 2019. At its recent Investor Event, the company said it was capitalising on untapped potential for Hasbro brands in the pre-school market, with ranges for both Peppa Pig and PJ Masks set to launch in the second half 2021.

Hasbro also revealed it was enhancing the consumer licensing programmes for these brands with newly developed and produced content for both properties in the works between now and 2023.

Among the Peppa Pig lines due to launch this year is a series of Peppa Pig Peppa’s Adventures lines that allow kids to recreate their favourite moments from the popular TV shows.

Peppa’s Family Motorhome has a steering wheel that produces music and phrases from the series when pressed, and converts to a multi-level RV playset, with a trailer hitch that attaches to the Peppa’s Family Red Car. The motorhome comes with Peppa, George, Mummy and Daddy Pig 3” figures and accessories, which all store neatly inside .

Peppa’s Playtime to Bedtime House is inspired by the house seen in the animated series. The three-storey, five room play set includes Peppa Pig, George Pig and Suzy Sheep 3” figures and accessories, and features a dial to choose between daytime or nighttime modes, with sounds, phrases and light features.

Peppa’s School Playgroup allows children to replicate Peppa’s school day as seen in the animated series. Complete with Peppa Pig, Mandy Mouse and Madame Gazelle 3” figures, the set also includes nine accessories. Meanwhile, Peppa’s Ice Cream Truck is a rolling vehicle with a steering wheel that kids can press to hear sounds from the show, as well as classic ice cream truck music, and the Oink-Along Songs Peppa Singing Plush Doll comes with a microphone and oinks, giggles, sings and says three familiar phrases.

The PJ Masks collection includes hero line the Deluxe Battle HQ, as well as items including the PJ Launching Seeker; individual Wristbands for each of the characters, Catboy, Owlette and Gekko; a collection of Deluxe Feature Vehicles and the Romeo Bot Builder.

“Our expectation is that we return to growth in revenues, earnings and EBITDA in 2021,” said chairman Brian Goldner at the Investor Event. “As we grow, we expand the reach of our brands to deliver higher operating margin and enhanced cash generation with the potential for Hasbro to reach operating margin levels greater than 16% and cash generation close to the billion-dollar level over the medium term.”
