Spielwarenmesse lends its support to second bio!TOY Conference

Published on: 25th August 2021

Spielwarenmesse exhibitors are being offered a ticket discount for the two-day hybrid event, which centres on the sustainability of toys.

As focus grows on the sustainability of toys, toy fair Spielwarenmesse will once again underline the significance by supporting the second bio!TOY Conference in Nuremberg next month.

The hybrid event, which takes place on 7th and 8th September, will highlight circular and bio-based plastics for sustainable toys and is organised by bioplastics Magazine and narocon Innovation Consulting.

More and more toy manufacturers are developing and marketing products from circular and bio-based materials and the bio!TOY Conference will showcase achievements within the toy industry while setting out visions for the future.

“The topic of sustainability is ubiquitous at the Spielwarenmesse, which is why we’re delighted to be supporting the event,” said Christian Ulrich, spokesperson for the Executive Board at Spielwarenmesse eG.

The papers and exhibits will provide a current overview of innovations in sustainable polymers and toys, along with the opportunities they present for the future. Speakers will include delegates from leading industries and brands, innovators at smaller companies and technology experts.

“The use of renewable raw materials made from bio-mass rather than fossil reserves is on the rise for many good reasons. It’s all about triggering a consistent and fundamental transformation where actors are called upon to position themselves both for the short and long term,” commented Dr. Michael Thielen, editor-in-chief of bioplastics Magazine.

The bio!TOY Conference will take place both digitally and in-person, with thorough on-site hygiene at the hotel.

Further information as well as a list of the speakers can be found here.

Spielwarenmesse exhibitors can request a discount code for 10% off the ticket price by contacting their representative at the fair.
