Boat Rocker’s charming 2D-animated pre-school series joins Cartoonito on Cartoon Network and HBO Max from 13th September.

Boat Rocker has announced that it has signed a multi-platform deal for Love Monster with WarnerMedia Kids & Family.

The pre-school series will join WarnerMedia Kids & Family’s forthcoming Cartoonito pre-school block on Cartoon Network beginning mid-September, significantly boosting the show’s presence in the US. Love Monster is also available now in the US on HBO Max. In the UK, the series one can be watched on BBC iPlayer.

Jon Rutherford, president, Boat Rocker Studios, Kids & Family and Rights, said: “We are thrilled that Love Monster is going to air on Cartoonito. With the series emphasis on helping children understand their emotions, our one-of-a-kind huggable hero is the perfect fit for the block’s commendable ambitions to support young children’s unique potential. Love Monster’s distinctive and heart-warming appeal is pleasing pre-schoolers across the globe and we are excited to be working on the second season.”

Love Monster, based on the warm and witty award-winning pre-school books by Rachel Bright, follows the exploits of hero Love Monster as he navigates challenges related to being ‘a bit funny looking’ in a world of cute fluffy things. Every day provides Love Monster with the opportunity to embark on adventures with his friends in Fluffytown, where, together, they learn all kinds of little life lessons.

Star Trek legend George Takei joins some of the UK’s best actors and voice talent, including Tamsin Greig, Darren Foreman and Sarah Hadland, in the distinguished cast of this heartfelt and charming TV adaptation. He said: “Love Monster celebrates inclusive behaviour and collaboration and that’s also very much my philosophy – we find strength, joy and vitality in diversity coming together.”

Currently in production, the latest series (27 x 7’) will premiere on CBeebies early next year and will launch on Cartoonito later in 2022.

A ground-breaking collaboration between BBC Children’s In-House Productions, Boat Rocker and Chinese kids’ entertainment company UYoung, Love Monster is executively produced by Tony Reed for the BBC, Chapman Maddox for Boat Rocker and James Chen Gu for UYoung.
