World Cup fever strikes at Winning Moves

Published on: 18th November 2022

Winning Moves has seen two of its football themed lines sell out as excitement for the FIFA Qatar World Cup ramps up.

Winning Moves has announced that it has sold out of its World Football Stars Guess Who and Top Trumps Specials lines as hype for the FIFA Qatar World Cup continues to build.

The two products – which form a part of a larger World Football Stars range including the likes of Top Trumps Match, Top Trumps Quiz, Monopoly and a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle – will be replenished over the coming weeks, Winning Moves has confirmed. The Top Trumps Specials return in early December, leaving plenty of time for Christmas shopping, while February 2023 will see Guess Who back on-shelf.

“With the world’s greatest tournament right round the corner and set to continue right up till Christmas, we expect to see these exceptional sales continue,” said Kieran McNamara, head of UK Retail Sales. “For many families this Christmas, our products will mean football is coming home this year. After the England Lionesses did their part in the summer, it’s now up to the men’s team to do the same.”

The World Football Stars range incorporates some of the best players across the sport, both old and new, and with a variety of price points from £8 to £34.99 there are options for everyone. Currently, two items of the range can be found in the Amazon Top 100 for Toys and Games, which Winning Moves says proves that customers are still prepared to spend their money on higher priced items.

“We’re incredibly proud of this range,” Kieran continued. “Not only because it encompasses everything that fans love about the global sport, but also because of its versatility. For example, with our Guess Who product not due back into stock until early next year, we’ve turned our attention to Top Trumps Match, the game where players must match five characters in a row. At the same price point as Guess Who, it’s the perfect alternative for children aged 4+.”
