Hamleys welcomes King Charles to Regent Street store

Published on: 27th April 2023

Hamleys has unveiled the world’s only full sized Lego figure of King Charles, in readiness for the Coronation celebrations.

On the 26th of April, Hamleys exclusively welcomed the world’s only full-size Lego statue of King Charles III to its Regent Street store. The statue, made entirely of Lego bricks, will be displayed in the Grand Entrance of the central London shop as the country prepares to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

Designed and constructed by Lego Master Builders, the Lego King on his royal throne is made of 73,412 Lego bricks. Depicting King Charles in his full regal attire, visitors to the London store can admire the intricate details added by the Lego Masters, from the King’s flowing robe to the new crown which he will wear at the Coronation ceremony itself.

“We are thrilled to have the world’s only Lego statue of King Charles exclusively at Hamleys,” commented Sumeet Yadav, CEO, Hamleys. “This will be the 10th coronation that Hamleys has seen since opening, and we are so excited to work with Lego to celebrate this momentous occasion with our customers. We are sure the new addition to the store, giving families the chance to snap a selfie with the new monarch, will delight visitors of all ages.”

The unveiling of the statue is only part of the family-friendly Coronation Celebrations taking place at Hamleys. Everyone can join in with celebration parades, meet their favourite Hamleys friends and play regal games throughout the month of May (until June 4th).
