Basic Fun launches K’Nex schools initiative

Published on: 17th March 2021

Basic Fun is inviting parents, caregivers and teachers to nominate their school to receive a K’Nex School Pack.

As children return to the classroom, Basic Fun has launched a new K’Nex initiative to connect with schools and promote the brand’s application to fun learning at all stages of development. As part of the campaign, the company has pledged £10,000 worth of K’Nex resources to schools across the UK.

Holly Lackey, head of marketing at Basic Fun, commented: “In the past year,  families have used KNex to entertain and homeschool amid the lockdown restrictions. With this new initiative, we want to not only support our local communities, but we also want to increase awareness of the K’Nex brand and promote its application to STEAM learning in schools.”

The initiative launched on 8th March, with parents, caregivers and teachers asked to nominate their school to receive a K’Nex School Pack, via a dedicated webpage.  The nomination process will close on 30th April, after which packs will be delivered to classrooms across the UK.

Each pack contains everything schools need to get pupils building, both in-class and during after school activities, also contributing to early skill development. Selected schools will receive an assortment of K’Nex Education products and Kid K’Nex sets, as well as teaching packs, lesson plans, take-home information and more.

“We want to drive home how readily K’Nex supports fun learning at all stages of development,” added Holly. “For younger children, Kid K’Nex character sets hone hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities and more. For children that are ready for a next-level building challenge, there’s the core K’Nex collection. Meanwhile, the K’Nex Education collection is aligned to national education standards; each set comes with hands-on lesson plans for teaching STEAM topics.”
