Big Potato joins forces with Forbidden Planet for collaborative brand event

A tabletop gaming event took place in Forbidden Planet stores across the UK.

Shoreditch-based party game company Big Potato recently partnered with Forbidden Planet, a specialist in sci-fi and fantasy entertainment, to host its own tabletop gaming event.

The event took place on Saturday 8th June, when the Big Potato team sent an army of game demonstrators to five Forbidden Planet stores around the country, including London, Newcastle and Bristol. Games were played, prizes were won and a free pin badge was given out to all the customers that joined in. The badge, designed exclusively for the collaboration, features Big Potato’s smiley potato mascot riding the iconic Forbidden Planet rocket.

On top of the pin badges, visitors also had a chance to try their luck and win a pre-release copy of Big Potato’s new movie party game, The Blockbuster Game, which is not officially available until July.

Big Potato’s Alex Lolies, who worked closely with Forbidden Planet on the event, commented: “We were delighted to partner with Forbidden Planet for this event. Its customers are the perfect fit for our games, so it was fantastic to be able to chat face-to-face on a nationwide level. Everyone in the Forbidden Planet team, from the store managers to
head office, have been such a joy to work with, and we’re already looking forward to collaborating with them again in the future.”

Forbidden Planet’s Danie Ware added: “We were very pleased to host the Big Potato Games demonstrations in our stores. Our staff and customers all had a wonderful time, and took many great memories away from the day. We’re definitely looking forward to more Big Potato gaming.”
