DKB Toys & Distribution grows UK accounts team

Published on: 14th July 2021

The company has announced the appointment of George Stone to the UK buying team in response to account growth and new client acquisitions.

George Stone

Previously Toys & Games/Soft Toys assistant buyer for WHSmith Travel, George joins the company as a junior buyer with two years’ experience developing and establishing working relationships for WHSmith. Working with key companies including Lego, Ty, Mattel and Winning Moves, he helped to deliver substantial year-on-year growth across both categories. George was actively involved in delivering bespoke ranges across a number of retail channels including airports, train stations and hospitals, and also assisted in bringing a number of exciting new suppliers into the fold whilst working with existing partners to grow their sales.

His new role within DKB will focus on growing the already strong portfolio of market- leading and trend-setting product lines at the company. Working closely with MD Chris Lohmeyer, George will be responsible for analysing sales performance and ensuring stock availability in order to continue to develop a platform for growth across the business, creating perfect range solutions for each individual customer.

“With two years’ buying experience in the toy industry, I bring a varied skill-set to the new role at DKB,” comments George. “I have an inherent understanding of retail trends and am passionate about the products and companies I work with. As a big kid myself, I can see what is needed to make a range or product a success at retail and am keen to use my collaborative mindset to make sure deals work for everyone involved in the process.”
