Early kick off for Smoby’s family football advertising with FA Cup games

Published on: 24th February 2022

Football fans will get to see the Smoby Smile LED brand advertising at six Premier League and now two FA Cup ties.

Simba Smoby Toys UK is further extending its major football advertising campaign for the Smoby brand, by adding two FA Cup draws to the schedule, meaning the awareness drive now kicks off earlier on Tuesday 1st March.

From March to May, fans at six Premier League games and now two FA Cup games will experience the Smoby Smile LED brand advertising via the pitch-side boards during the match. The action kicks off on 1st March, with the FA Cup tie at Peterborough, who will be hosting Premier League leaders Manchester City (on ITV), followed the next day with the cup tie at Luton Town, who will be hosting Chelsea (BBC One).

“These are highly prized fixtures for us to launch our campaign,” said Mayur Patni, head of marketing at Simba Smoby Toys UK. “And with the bonus of them being shown on free-to-air channels, the audience potential is huge, with a possible 3.5m viewers for each match, helping us to really drive brand awareness and to then set up our spring summer TV campaign in May and June.”

The cup-ties will be followed with a further six Premier League games as previously reported, including Watford v Arsenal on Sunday 6th March (Sky Sports), Brighton v Liverpool on Saturday 12th March (BT Sport) and then Burnley v Southampton on Saturday 19th March (Sky Sports). Three additional fixtures (dates TBA) will wrap-up the LED advertising campaign, at which point the brand’s own TV campaign will kick in, taking Smoby into homes across the nation.
