Egmont Publishing releases new Nick Jr. one-off magazine

Published on: 4th April 2019

The standalone Top Wing magazine will be published under Egmont’s umbrella title, Showcase.

Egmont Publishing has announced that it will be publishing a special edition of its umbrella title, Showcase, dedicated to the Nickelodeon pre-school property Top Wing. Egmont currently publishes magazines on two other Nickelodeon pre-school properties, Shimmer & Shine and Paw Patrol.

Top Wing, the newest Nick Jr. franchise, launched on television last August. Today it is a Nick Jr. top five show among 2-5 year olds. The pre-school television series follows four best friend birds – Swift, Penny, Rod and Brody – who are training to earn their wings as full-feathered rescuers. At the Top Wing Academy, the cadets are assigned different missions to sharpen their rescue skills and help those in need, learning valuable lessons along the way.

The special issue of Showcase: Top Wing includes stories, puzzles, colouring, stickers and a reward chart for Top Wing fans to earn their wings. Readers will learn all about the rescue birds, and will receive a free watch, binoculars and badge. Hasbro, Top Wing’s toy partner, will be running a competition within the magazine, giving readers the chance to win bundles of brand-new Top Wing toys.

To celebrate the launch of the magazine, a competition will be run in partnership with Milkshake!, with the magazine being promoted both on the Milkshake! website and on-air.

Kiran Vara, publisher at Egmont, said: “We’re so excited to be taking flight with Top Wing and bringing the brand’s values of teamwork, perseverance and bravery to the UK magazine market. We’re sure that our pre-school readers will love the magazine’s activities and stories and getting to know the Top Wing team in this special issue of Showcase.”
