Golden Bear master toy deal renewed for Hey Duggee

Published on: 4th October 2018

BBC Studios has announced that it has renewed its deal with Golden Bear, taking the partnership to 2020.

Golden Bear recently refreshed its ever-popular Woof Woof Duggee Soft Toy for autumn/winter; each of Duggee’s badges play different music from the CBeebies show when pressed and Duggee’s famous woofs can be heard when his head is pressed. Further new additions to Golden Bear’s range, available for autumn/winter, include the Duggee and The Squirrels Figurine Pack, and the Talking Squirrels plush toy range, which features Betty, Tag, Norrie, Roly, Happy and Duggee. Each of these colourful talking soft toys says their signature phrases with a gentle squeeze.

Christine Nicholls, vice chairman and director of product development at Golden Bear, commented: “Hey Duggee brings smiles, laughter and hugs into a pre-schooler’s day like no other TV show can, so it’s fantastic to be able to continue to bring such a fun and inclusive brand to life off-screen. The demand for our Hey Duggee toys has been unprecedented since the start of the year and especially since the World Cup when the Duggee Kick Kick song became the unofficial anthem of the tournament. Next year looks even brighter for Duggee as we have some exciting new developments coming through for autumn/winter 2019.”

The global success of the series has led to further licensing partnerships that involve Golden Bear. In Australia, Jasnor is the distributor for Golden Bear’s plush toy range. In Italy, Chicco sells Golden Bear’s plush toy range in its 150 stores nationwide.

Hey Duggee Series 3 is currently in production and is expected to air on CBeebies by early 2019.
