Goliath partners with CrimeCon Glasgow for Casefile: Truth & Deception

Published on: 28th September 2022

Last weekend saw the company showcase the new Casefile: Truth & Deception Board Game to a captive audience at the inaugural CrimeCon Glasgow event.

CrimeConBilled as a ‘riveting, endlessly re-playable strategy boardgame’, Casefile: Truth & Deception is based on the global, award winning Casefile podcast which consistently ranks high in the podcasting charts with millions of fans stemming from multiple territories. Players can put themselves in a detective’s shoes as they solve a complex crime using 44 beautifully illustrated cards, taking turns trading evidence to get closer to the truth.

The World’s No.1 True Crime Event, CrimeCon brings together documentary makers, experts, podcasters and law enforcement professionals to meet with true crime enthusiasts and provided the perfect partnership platform to introduce Casefile via a series of immersive and engaging consumer-facing PR initiatives.

Recognising the natural synergy between the game and event offering, the Glasgow venue offered an intimate one day event programme with key speaker discussions and breakout sessions for visitors and presenters. Casefile: Truth & Deception was integrated into the event programme seamlessly with branded mentions across owned social platforms, a competition with link to retail on the event website and social channels, a news story on the official show blog page, ad that were played during the event, solus mailer to the event’s opt-in database, and samples of the game being put directly into the hands of presenters and speakers at the event in order for them to weave elements of the gameplay into their social activity and podcasts. The activity is being amplified via a feature and competition in Crime Monthly Magazine with an additional CrimeCon advent calendar opportunity partnership in the run up to Christmas.

“Sales of the range have got off to a great start, and working with the CrimeCon UK team presented us with the perfect platform from which to speak directly to this niche audience of crime enthusiasts from across the UK,” commented Charlie Dougles, assistant brand manager (UK) at Goliath Games. “We were able to leverage numerous partnership opportunities and are looking to 2023 to further extend our relationship with the event organisers and take activity to the next level as we continue to develop and extend the Casefile range.”
