ITV Studios announces licensing programme for Top Class

Published on: 18th May 2018

Top Class, made by ITV Studios for CBBC, is presented by Susan Calman and features teams from schools competing to be the ‘Top Class’.

In 2017, the quiz show reached 3.4m viewers. Questions are linked to Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum, with subjects including Maths, English, Science, History, Geography and News. There is also a Test the Teacher round in which teachers are asked questions relating to popular culture – usually to humiliating effect. The fourth series of the show is already in production, set to air autumn/winter 2018 with 15 30-minute episodes.

Trudi Hayward, SVP global head of merchandise at ITVS GE, commented: “Top Class is already a well-established and trusted brand with a clear USP and target. We see fantastic potential for this series in the licensing market, particularly in Publishing, Toys & Games, Stationery (Back to School) and Digital Gaming. Licensees will have access to the extensive archive question bank as well as a style guide.”

Opportunities across various categories are now available for interested licensees.
