Perudo Championships set to be “biggest and best yet”

Paul Lamond Games’ annual Perudo Championships has seen its greatest ever response.

On 9th November, some of the world’s most skillful Perudo players will battle it out to take the coveted title of World Perudo Champion 2018.

Within 24 hours of registration opening, 100 players had signed up for the championships, with 180 Perudo fans now entered for what has become one of the most anticipated events in the board games calendar.

Now in its 29th year, the prestigious Perudo Championships which is held in the capital, will be hosted by the renowned journalist and TV presenter, Mariella Frostrup, who is a big fan of the riveting dice game. The competition promises to be a truly global event with fans travelling from far and wide.

Richard Wells, managing director at Paul Lamond Games, commented: “As we approach 30 years of the Perudo Championships, we’re seeing a greater than ever demand for this liar dice game. Last year’s championships were extremely successful but this year looks set to be the biggest and best ever. The popularity of Perudo has seen significant growth with new, fresh faces becoming Perudo fans all the time. It’s a game that’s become part of life in universities, pubs and homes everywhere, and we’re looking forward to finding out who’ll be crowned the World Perudo Champion 2018.”

The Championships take place at the IET, Savoy Place, London, and will see players compete across three rounds. The highest ranked players will progress to the semi-final stage and battle it out for one of the six highly sought-after final table places and the chance to become the ultimate Champion of the Dice.
