Hatchimals is kicking off the New Year with its most exciting line of Colleggtibles yet.

Children can hatch the shimmery seashell-shaped eggs to discover Mermal Magic characters which change colour when submersed in water.

The Mermal Magic series is the fifth season of the largely popular line of Hatchimals Colleggtibles. With over 80 characters to discover, fans can add Mermals (half-Hatchimal, half-mermaid) and characters from Sunshine Surf, Mischief Marsh and Racing River to their collection.

To start hatching, kids need to hold the egg in the palm of their hand. Children can rub the purple heart until it turns pink, then gently press down to crack the shell, meet a new friend and discover their secret surprise.

The new under-the-sea themed Colleggtibles come in packs of 1, 2, 4, 6 and 12. Kids can also store their new friends in the Coral Castle playset, equipped with an exclusive character and hidden treasure. SRP varies from £2.99 to £19.99. Hatchimals Colleggtibles are recommended for kids ages five and up.
