The Toy Foundation organises toy donations and financial aid for earthquake victims

Published on: 15th February 2023

The Toy Foundation has secured toy donation and financial aid channels for Turkey-Syria earthquake relief.

In anticipation of the toy industry’s collective interest in responding to the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria on 6th February, The Toy Foundation (TTF) has secured partners for toy donation deliveries and direct financial aid to on-the-ground organisations. As a US children’s charity, The Toy Foundation’s mission is to provide philanthropic support and the vital commodity of play to children and families under stress and in dire situations, across the US and across the globe, representing the toy industry.

Fatalities from the catastrophic magnitude 7.8 earthquake this week surpassed 37,000 men, women and children in Turkey and Syria. Tens of thousands more are injured and without housing and other essential items as cold weather continues to sweep the area. Immediate support is needed to provide access to food, clothing and shelter.

To help relieve the suffering of others and deliver the comfort, joy, and benefits of play to children, TTF confirmed its international relief partners are ready, willing and able to receive product donations. Donations will be coordinated in a similar way to the Ukrainian emergency relief campaign, with delivery to US ports to prepare for shipment overseas. Additionally, TTF is working with its partners to identify qualified non profit organisations to receive financial support.

TTF is accepting donations of toys, clothing, accessories, bedding and other essential items. To make a donation, complete a product donation form and send it to ttfinfo@toyfoundation.org indicating it is for Turkey and Syria earthquake relief.

To provide financial support, donations can be made through TTF’s website (company donation here or individual donation here).

The TTF team and Board of Trustees deeply appreciates the industry’s compassion and collective support for the benefit of children in need. Any questions about TTF’s earthquake relief efforts should be directed to the TTF team.
