Alpha Group UK brand manager undertakes 100-mile charity bike ride

Published on: 12th August 2019

Reg Sookee has raised over £1,200 for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

After five years of applying, Reg was finally accepted to ride as part of Prudential’s Ride100 competition, a circuit filled with twists and turns, long straights and challenging hills around London and the Surrey countryside. A keen road cyclist, Reg completed the 100 miles course in a time of five hours and 57 minutes, raising the impressive sum in the process.

Following a visit to one of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices’ hospice days earlier this year, Reg was personally struck by the help and support that the charity provides to young people and families, as they go through life-changing situations and battle life-limiting conditions. Seeing babies, children, young people and their families go through struggles spurred Reg on his mission to raise money for the charity.

Supported by his colleagues, who are still yet to get over the images of him in lycra, Reg completed the ride in a fantastic time. Any further donations in order to support the work of the Shooting Star Hospices can be made via Reg’s Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/reg-sookee-100
