The toy industry reshuffle continues, with Marianne James announcing that she is leaving her role at Nickelodeon to join Hasbro as its vice president of Consumer Products, EMEA.

Jazwares has acquired Wicked Cool Toys, a rapidly growing company that designs, develops and produces licensed and owned properties, including plush, action figures, fashion accessories and games. Set to operate as a division of Jazwares, Wicked Cool Toys says day-to-day operations will not be impacted by the acquisition.

John Lewis has announced that the boss of its Waitrose chain will leave the company, as the retailer plans to bring its department stores and supermarket business under the same management team, with 75 job losses.

BBC Studios, producers of the world’s longest-running motoring entertainment show Top Gear, has signed a deal with Lego to launch the first Lego Technic Top Gear set next year. Eloise Bradley, senior licensing manager at The Lego Group, said: “Lego Technic and BBC Top Gear together will be a dream come true for car fans all over the world. We’re looking forward to working with BBC Top Gear to bring some amazing innovative engineering to life – stay tuned!”
