First look at new Toys R Us store in New Jersey

Published on: 28th November 2019

The new store will feature engaging, interactive experiences designed for kids and families, including an in-store movie theatre and tree house.

Toys R Us is opening a new store at the Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus, New Jersey on Saturday 30th November. The first footage has appeared online of how the store layout will look.

Richard Barry, president and CEO of Toys R Us parent company, Tru Kids, promises a new experience. He commented: “I’m a 30 plus Toys R Us kid and have been given the opportunity to re-imagine the experience. This is a very different store from the traditional Toys R Us store.”

New Toys R Us stores will be a fraction of the size of the original stores and will be located in high traffic locations, like the Garden State Plaza mall. The new stores will also feature interactive experiences designed for kids and families, including an in-store movie theatre and tree house.

The New Jersey store will be the first to re-open but another store in Houston is scheduled to open next week. Toys R Us plans to open eight more stores in the US by the end of 2020.
