Rowena Shorey has announced two new dimensions to her established recruitment service – professional CV writing and interview prep.

With over 20 years’ experience in talent acquisition and preparing candidates for interview, Rowena knows what it takes for CVs to stand out and be noticed, and what hiring managers or recruiters expect when reviewing CVs and meeting candidates for the first time.

As the job market sector galvanises itself for challenging times with inevitable lay-offs, hiring companies are in prime position to cherry pick from the best of the crop. This means that the importance of having a CV which will take jobseekers to market and make an effective impact has never been more important.

A stand-out CV needs to be clear and concise with easy to spot salient information enabling the hiring manager to skim read and spot key points within twenty or thirty seconds, according to Rowena. It is not always easy to be objective about a career which spans two decades or more, and ensuring the language nuance is current rather than pitted with old school clichés is paramount.

Rowena’s interview prep service is ideal for those who feel they would benefit from sharpening their delivery of answering questions which are not expected. Taking candidates through a range of questions based around their career background, experience and the role being applied for, Rowena focuses on situational, behavioural and traditional questions designed to let candidates practise formulating answers. The sessions are available for 30 or 60 minutes, and the goal is to boost confidence for the actual interview day.

Readers who would like further details on any of Rowena’s services for recruitment, CV writing or interview prep are advised to contact Rowena on rowena@shoreyconsulting.co.uk 07970 383 641.
