BargainMax.co.uk expands into the Republic of Ireland

Early Christmas shopping meant traffic to the Bargain Max website in October was up 86.29% YoY.

BargainMax logoOnline discount toy retailer Bargain Max has announced an online expansion to the Republic of Ireland. The specialist online discount toy retailer will now offer shipping to the ROI, with a free shipping threshold of €30 now added to the site.

The new website launched in October 2020 and since then has received strong interest from consumers across the Republic of Ireland.

The Manchester-based retailer has seen a huge increase in sales throughout the last quarter, with sales up 118% and profits up 148% on last year. With people buying Christmas presents earlier than expected this year, traffic to the Bargain Max website in October was up 86.29% YoY.

Senior buyer Alex Woolfstein commented: “We recognised that shoppers in Ireland required a competitive price on free shipping thresholds so it was the right time to expand the business in this way. We expect sales to continue to be strong online, with continuing Covid-19 restrictions meaning more people are turning to purchasing online than ever before. Our recent survey of 2,573 parents revealed that 90% of parents surveyed plan to buy online. 89% of UK parents are also planning to use delayed or alternative payment methods to facilitate buying this years’ Christmas toys and gifts.”

Last month, Emma Carden joined the retailer as a buyer. Speaking of her appointment, she said: “It’s an exciting time to become part of this growing business, with a lot of opportunities to go after. I was really impressed with everything the company has achieved in a relatively short amount of time. They have a great set-up and are geared up for future growth. I’ll certainly be looking for immediate opportunities to maximise the Christmas trading period.”
