DKL-Beysal expands portfolio after triumphant first year of trading

Published on: 11th February 2021

DKL-Beysal MD Terry Crew is delighted at the company’s success, after celebrating the one year anniversary since Beysal acquired DKL Marketing.

Beysal completed a deal to acquire DKL Marketing in October 2019, an acquisition that saw DKL-Beysal continue to support, develop and distribute the ranges that DKL had firmly established in the UK market: Hama Beads, Breyer and Plus-Plus. Now, the company had expanded its portfolio to add new lines to the existing ranges.

DKL-Beysal managing director Terry Crew told Toy World that the company traded positively in 2020, despite all the issues surrounding the Covid pandemic.”We knew when we acquired the business that there were areas that we had to address,” he explained. “With a great team effort, as well as unwavering support from our suppliers, we are delighted to have returned a healthy profit in our first full year of trading”.

In addition to Hama Beads, Plus-Plus construction bricks and Breyer model horses, the company is set to complement its successful existing portfolio with fresh new additions from the Beysal operation. “For 2021, we will introduce Dancing Army,” Terry told us. “The brand follows the TikTok trend and brings colour to viral dances and challenges; kids can customise their face, hair and arms, learn the choreography and start dancing.” (He sadly declined to demonstrate).

“Meanwhile, Luna Babies is a nurturing doll that arrives from the Moon and takes care of children’s dreams. During the day, the dolls have their own needs such as being fed and needing their nappies changing, but at night they relax and soothe the child at bedtime.” The doll comes complete with 10 functions, day and night modes, accessories and a story book.

The new interactive plush Mascutties range looks set to be popular, and launches with the cute Flippy Bear. Terry is also confident that the dynamic plush range consisting of EcoPlush Ocean and Jungle animals wil also be in high demand with customers looking for eco friendly products, and will enable them to teach children about waste and recycling. The loveable creatures are made from recycled plastic bottles removed from the ocean.

DKL-Beysal will also welcome Jumpers that leap in the air; Magic Hair Fawn, a soft cuddly animal with lots of play hair; Whoopee Monsters that make a loud “trump” sound and Magic Wings, a soft toy that turns into a beautiful butterfly.

“With lots coming up in 2021, we look forward to discussing these latest introductions in greater detail throughout the coming weeks,” concluded Terry.
