Mattel partners with Pouch Australia on Play Pouch

Published on: 24th March 2022

Some of Mattel’s best-loved brands such as Hot Wheels and Barbie are now available on the Play Pouch all in one storage bag and playmat.

Mattel has signed a deal with the Australian creators of the original Play Pouch. The recent online launch has been a great success, with a range of licensed Play Pouch options set to roll out at retail in all key territories this year.

The toy storage bag and playmat in one is now available in Hot Wheels, Barbie, Fisher Price Little People and Thomas & Friends designs.

Play Pouch provides a place to play, is easy to pack away and offers a compact and portable toy storage solution. The playmats feature interactive play scenes on the inside and are packed up quickly with a pull on the ropes, gathering any cars, engines, tracks, Barbie dolls, Little People and accessories neatly inside.

Kate Campbell and Kate O’Donoghue, co-founders of Pouch Australia, said: “We are thrilled to have partnered with Mattel and delighted by the immediate success of the interactive Mattel Play Pouch range. We know play is vital in promoting healthy development in young children. Like Mattel, we want to inspire and entertain children through play and provide products that parents can trust. Working with Mattel brands has taken Play Pouch to another level.”

Founded in 2011, the Original Play Pouch features a range of products based on the bag and mat in one concept. Pouch Australia has solutions for toy storage, outdoor activities, newborn babies and more.

Kate and Kate added: “The Play Pouch is inspired by the innocence and simplicity of our own childhoods and the positive impact self-guided imaginative play had on our lives. Presenting our favourite childhood brands on our products has been the highlight of our business journey so far.”
