Addo Play and Spin Master partner for global Fuggler deal

Published on: 26th October 2022

Addo Play has entered into a three-year agreement with Spin Master, as an official licensee of the Fuggler brand in worldwide territories.

Alongside continued sales to retailers in the UK, Canada and Australia, Fugglers will be available on Amazon, specialty channels and collector sites in the US from Q4 through distributor ESKA, with more territories planned to follow. This licensing agreement covers Fuggler plush toys, keychains, reusable bags and more.

Fugglers, the funny, ugly 9” plush monsters, have gained a global cult following due to their quirky and off-beat nature. Each character features unique eyes, a toothy smile or grimace, signature button hole and iconic underpants – giving them an ‘imperfectly perfect’ look with a host of mischievous expressions.

Mary Price and David Martin, co-founders and CEOs of Addo Play, said: “We are thrilled to be strengthening our partnership with Spin Master by expanding the licence of Fugglers to worldwide territories. The launch of Fugglers has been extremely successful within the UK, and it is incredibly exciting to now expand the world of Fugglers globally. We cannot wait to see the rest of the world embrace these Funny Ugly Monsters and to continue our valued partnership with Spin Master.”

Originally launched in 2010, a British woman known as Mrs. McGettric devised the concept of Fugglers after encountering individual denture teeth on eBay and envisioning them as looking funny on teddy bears. In 2018, Spin Master bought the rights to the brand and developed it further to create newer, on-trend Funny Ugly Monsters. In 2021, toy manufacturer Addo Play entered into an agreement with Spin Master as official licensee of the Fuggler brand and now manufactures and markets Fugglers with the endorsement of Spin Master.
