Ravensburger signs Eleanor Tomlinson for Coronation puzzle

Published on: 23rd February 2023

A celebratory puzzle entitled Coronation Capers will be produced by Ravensburger UK featuring the distinctive artwork of Eleanor Tomlinson.

Following a successful London Toy Fair, Ravensburger UK has inked an agreement with award-winning artist and illustrator Eleanor Tomlinson for a specially created 1000 piece puzzle to celebrate the upcoming King Charles III’s Coronation in May. The puzzle will be available at retail by April.

The exclusive agreement, which will be expanded with further original artwork puzzles by Eleanor, was brokered by her licensing agent, Andrew Eborn of Octopus TV, and Ravensburger UK’s senior product manager (Puzzles), Sindy Randall.

The 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, entitled Coronation Capers, is an original piece of artwork created in ink and watercolour. Eleanor created this stunning piece as the signature piece for her Coronation Collection. Celebrating the coronation with a fun, quirky and typically British twist, the puzzle features a variety of breeds of dogs, mostly associated with the Royal Family, including King Charles Cavaliers, Jack Russells and Corgis. Surrounded by bunting, the dogs are on the Buckingham Palace balcony overlooking The Mall, crowds and London’s iconic skyline.

This special edition puzzle comes in a bespoke celebratory purple box, produced by Ravensburger, and beautifully completes the Royal theme. The puzzle will be available from early April at a £14.99 RRP.

Eleanor achieved global fame in 2022 for her piece of art celebrating HRH Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, known as Jubilee Ma’amalade Tea, and featured the Queen, one of her corgis and a well-known bear who had a penchant for marmalade sandwiches. Her work is now creating significant interest in the licensing community. To support the growth and consumer enthusiasm for her art, she has appointed lawyer and broadcaster, Andrew Eborn of Octopus TV to oversee her licensing programme and assist with the strategic development of the global brand.

Commenting on the Coronation Capers puzzle, Sindy Randall said: “This was one of those rare occasions where we were presented with a unique piece of art, that was not far off becoming a wonderful commemorative puzzle and came together in a matter of days. We are passionate about working with UK artists and delighted to have signed Eleanor for this celebratory piece of artwork.”

Eleanor added: “I’m thrilled to have been able to partner with Ravensburger and have Coronation Capers portrayed at its very best as a 1000 piece puzzle. It’s brilliant to have such a respected partner supporting my new licensing journey, and I truly hope this will encourage other licensees to come on board with Andrew Eborn and myself for the King’s coronation this summer.”
